PROJECT: Headquarters of Moët Hennessy in Paris, France
ARCHITECTURAL BUREAU: Barbarito Bancel
RUGS: 11 made-to-measure rugs in different color gradations
The objective of this project was to convey emotion, which was made possible by the study of water. With its fluidity and delicate changes of color, this vivid material inspired the architects for the design of the rugs. They used watercolors to paint different aquatic patterns that served as a basis for our team to finalize the rugs.
Two materials, wool and silk, were combined to create a ripple effect. The rugs have a deep pile due to special production techniques: cut loop tufting and overtuft.
“One of our core values was to support a local company — one that continues to believe in producing everything at its place of origin, is people-oriented, and has genuine passion.”
Ivana Barbarito, architect & co-founder of Barbarito Bancel
“We wanted the rugs to create a strong visual impression and to feel pleasant underfoot, while also meeting our deadlines and budget.”
Benjamin Bancel, architect & co-founder of Barbarito Bancel
